Very pleased with Overhead Door Company of Kansas City! The technician Ernie was the best. He was very friendly and definitely knew what he was doing. He explained the problem and told me what needed to be done. He called me and told me what time he would be here and ended up being two minutes early. I have used this company before and would recommend them to everyone.

Yesterday, was my first experience with overhead door. I was 10 minutes away and heading over to my Dad’s house when he said the garage door guy was coming over. As I pulled up, the Overhead Door guy was explaining to my Dad, who was recently diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s disease, why he needed to re-program the door remote on the exterior wall (the whole system and parts were originally purchased and installed by Overhead Door). He continued to say that “unfortunately”, he needed to charge him for a “service call”. Later, I found out from my step mom that they were charged $90 for the five minutes it took this crook to re-program the remote. I can only hope to get these ‘overhead door’ clowns as my customers some day. I will be certain to do sub par work for them with inferior parts and charge them for subsequent “service calls”. Our garage door spring broke on a Sunday morning. I called Overhead Door having heard the testimonials and ads on the radio.I was quoted a time of between 2:30 and 5:00 the same day. Dan Shirley from Overhead Door called at 1:30 and said he’d be there in a half hour. So a major plus for getting to our home ahead of schedule. When he arrived, he immediately diagnosed some possible gear trouble on our garage door an gave a quick quote as to how much to fix it. He wasn’t called out for this purpose, but he recognized that our garage door system was older and out of concern wanted to be sure there wasn’t any additional damage. He gave me the option to have it fixed, but I declined. He didn’t push back, but let me know what it would cost to update the system in the event other parts began to break.Aside from this, he didn’t give us any hard sell for items that he was not there to fix. I showed him the issue of a broken spring, preventing the door from opening and closing. He gave me the price for replacement of one spring or both. I chose to have both replaced. Within 45 mins. Dan was completely finished and headed down the road. He was very professional and friendly. I would definitely recommend Overhead Door for anyone garage needs.read more

This was the customer service I’ve come to expect from Overhead Door. I lost the programming on one of my remotes. Called OHD and the manager advised that it was probably fixable simply by reprogramming the remote to the overhead unit. He emailed me the reprogramming instructions and voila! it worked. Appreciated not having to pay for a service call … that’s the best kind of customer service. It will keep me coming back!read more

I had a great experience with Overhead Door Company. Excellent service and reasonable pricing. They adjusted my garage doors the same day that I called. I scheduled the appointment online. We did end up replacing both doors and had an excellent experience with everyone. I love our new garage doors!!read more

I had a great experience with Overhead Door. The person that did the repair was knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful. The quality of the service they provided was great. I felt like they were thorough and did even more than I expected in the repair effort. The only reason for my 4 star rating is they were a little later than originally indicated and it would have been helpful to know in advance so I wasn’t waiting so long, but it was definitely the right company to call to get the job done right. I would not hesitate to use them again.read more

Overhead Door Company of Kansas City is fantastic! We had a spring break on our garage door during the snow/ice storm late on Saturday night. We called Overhead Door at 8:30am on Sunday morning. Tomi not only responded to our call right away but was prompt and completely finished fixing our door by 11:30am that same morning! Awoke on a Friday morning to a broken torsion spring and a list of work to accomplish. I really expected to either wait for Monday for repair, pay a fortune, or have to axe my to-do list. Tobin W. arrived exactly when I’d been told to expect him, and in addition to being quick and skillful, he was charming: kind to my dogs, generous with a smile, and engaging in conversation. Technical skills are essential, but it’s sure nice when a repair is accomplished by someone who will engage in conversation, say lovely things about his family, and ensure the work is satisfactory. Now I have a couple of new springs with warranty, feel like the fee was fair, and am happy to support businesses who make sure they’re represented by people like Tobin.read more

Had an issue with one of my doors at my facility and reached out and was treated like every customer should be. Spoke to a guy named Ian (had a great voice) in your office and he was very knowledgeable and the technician was very intelligent as well. I went to leave my home Friday afternoon the 14th of June about 2 p.m. . When I hit the garage door opener the spring broke. Now I’m trapped in my house. I called Raynor. The guy told me he couldn’t get to me until Monday. He then recommended I call Overhead Garage Door. I called overhead garage door at 2:16 p.m. at 2:36 p.m. the service man called and said he would be there in 20 minutes. He showed up at 2:54 p.m. his name was Tomi R. He was very polite and efficient and had my garage door working with 2 new Springs within 1 hour. The total charge was $299 which I think is reasonable. I could not be happier with the service.read more

Garage door torsion spring broke yesterday. Made an appointment online last night and a tech was here by 11am. The tech Tobin was very friendly and explained everything. There were some other items that needed replaced to get the garage running better and quieter than it ever has since we moved in 4 years ago. Price was reasonable and springs come with a 5 year warranty.read more

Our big spring on our garage door broke at 6pm on a Friday night. I made an appointment online and I had a technician at our house by 8. He called when he was on the way, was very courteous and explained the repair, and fixed it in a timely manner. Chris did a great job and we were thankful to be able to get in and out of the garage safely for evening events. Great service!read more
