Yesterday, was my first experience with overhead door. I was 10 minutes away and heading over to my Dad’s house when he said the garage door guy was coming over. As I pulled up, the Overhead Door guy was explaining to my Dad, who was recently diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s disease, why he needed to re-program the door remote on the exterior wall (the whole system and parts were originally purchased and installed by Overhead Door). He continued to say that “unfortunately”, he needed to charge him for a “service call”. Later, I found out from my step mom that they were charged $90 for the five minutes it took this crook to re-program the remote. I can only hope to get these ‘overhead door’ clowns as my customers some day. I will be certain to do sub par work for them with inferior parts and charge them for subsequent “service calls”. What goes around comes around. Thank you for contacting my father and resolving the issue. It was very nice of you all to apologize and refund his charge.read more

Our garage door spring broke on a Sunday morning. I called Overhead Door having heard the testimonials and ads on the radio.I was quoted a time of between 2:30 and 5:00 the same day. Dan Shirley from Overhead Door called at 1:30 and said he’d be there in a half hour. So a major plus for getting to our home ahead of schedule. When he arrived, he immediately diagnosed some possible gear trouble on our garage door an gave a quick quote as to how much to fix it. He wasn’t called out for this purpose, but he recognized that our garage door system was older and out of concern wanted to be sure there wasn’t any additional damage. He gave me the option to have it fixed, but I declined. He didn’t push back, but let me know what it would cost to update the system in the event other parts began to break.Aside from this, he didn’t give us any hard sell for items that he was not there to fix. I showed him the issue of a broken spring, preventing the door from opening and closing. He gave me the price for replacement of one spring or both. I chose to have both replaced. Within 45 mins. Dan was completely finished and headed down the road. He was very professional and friendly. I would definitely recommend Overhead Door for anyone garage needs.read more

This was the customer service I’ve come to expect from Overhead Door. I lost the programming on one of my remotes. Called OHD and the manager advised that it was probably fixable simply by reprogramming the remote to the overhead unit. He emailed me the reprogramming instructions and voila! it worked. Appreciated not having to pay for a service call … that’s the best kind of customer service. It will keep me coming back!read more

I had a great experience with Overhead Door. The person that did the repair was knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful. The quality of the service they provided was great. I felt like they were thorough and did even more than I expected in the repair effort. The only reason for my 4 star rating is they were a little later than originally indicated and it would have been helpful to know in advance so I wasn’t waiting so long, but it was definitely the right company to call to get the job done right. Awoke on a Friday morning to a broken torsion spring and a list of work to accomplish. I really expected to either wait for Monday for repair, pay a fortune, or have to axe my to-do list. Tobin W. arrived exactly when I’d been told to expect him, and in addition to being quick and skillful, he was charming: kind to my dogs, generous with a smile, and engaging in conversation. Technical skills are essential, but it’s sure nice when a repair is accomplished by someone who will engage in conversation, say lovely things about his family, and ensure the work is satisfactory. I went to leave my home Friday afternoon the 14th of June about 2 p.m. . When I hit the garage door opener the spring broke. Now I’m trapped in my house. I called Raynor. The guy told me he couldn’t get to me until Monday. He then recommended I call Overhead Garage Door. I called overhead garage door at 2:16 p.m. at 2:36 p.m. the service man called and said he would be there in 20 minutes. He showed up at 2:54 p.m. his name was Tomi R. He was very polite and efficient and had my garage door working with 2 new Springs within 1 hour. The total charge was $299 which I think is reasonable. Garage door torsion spring broke yesterday. Made an appointment online last night and a tech was here by 11am. The tech Tobin was very friendly and explained everything. There were some other items that needed replaced to get the garage running better and quieter than it ever has since we moved in 4 years ago. Came home on a Tuesday evening to discover that the large spring on our garage door had broken. Since it was after normal business hours, I got online to try to schedule an appointment for late the following day, not expecting to actually get services that quickly. To my surprise, an appointment was able to be made for Wednesday between 4-8pm. The service technician called while on his way over, and arrived at my house around 6pm. After calling two other companies when my garage door broken the Overhead was the only one available to come to my place at same day and it was later already (around 4pm when I called). One of the companies I’ve called, had scheduled and then cancelled 30 minutes before our appointment. Great service and installation. Called to get a matching door opener for my third car door. They helped pick make sure I got the right opener for what I wanted and needed. Service tech, Sean, called ahead and arrived on time. Explained what he was going to do and went about his work promptly and professionally. Two new torsion springs installed in about an hour. Door worked fine and Sean even took the time to clean up the internal contacts on our outdoor keypad which has been somewhat unreliable. Combined with past experiences with this company, I can safely and gladly recommend them. I went online and filled out one of their online contact form. It was very easy and self-explanatory to fill out. I later received a phone call from a representative the same day who was very helpful about what I was needing from the online forum. For the question she didn’t have an answer for she offered to figure them out and give me a call back which again was it within the same day. and the only reason she didn’t have an answer is because I was asking very specific questions about pricing which can vary. Anyway after we figured out all the details and I was pleased with the availability and pricing I scheduled the work to be done a few days later when I was available. Overhead door came out within the time specified. The tech representative was very friendly and and informative with communicating to me about maintenance and the work he was doing. I am not one that does a lot of reviews but I have to say that Derek Marriott was so great to work with. I was looking for a garage door remote for an extremely old garage door opener and he went back and forth with me over multiple days trying to help me get exactly what I needed. He even answered multiple emails after hours and then was able to get the garage door opener ready and programmed for me at a location closer to my house so I didn’t have to have it shipped. From the very beginning I knew I was dealing with a good company!! Chris Falka came out to reset my remote as I had an issue with resetting the code. He thoroughly explained and showed me the issue with the system and explained all my options. I chose to get a better opener (at a very reasonable price)and scheduled it to be installed. May be pricey but I’m assured that it’s done right the first time and done in a timely manner. No more safety issues like missing pulleys, safety cables, bent tracks, and misplaced sensors that do not work. I feel better that if a pet gets out accidentally, they won’t get crushed nor will my car. The doors and openers are quieter, not shaking, airtight , insulated, and I can park inside for the winter protecting my car and my delicate skin.read more

I recently moved to Kansas City from out of state. I came home from work and neither of my garage door opener remotes worked. I called Overhead Door to service my garage door openers and replace my remotes with new ones. They came right out. In addition to the servicing and new remotes, the technician installed a stabilizing brace on one of my doors to make it close smoothly and straight. I asked for information on converting my 2 garage doors into 1 door in the near future, and he was able to explain how that would work. In the meantime, my older units and doors are working so much better, and the new remotes are easier to use than the ancient ones I previously had. I appreciated their quick response, initiative, and additional information. I will definitely use their services again in the future.read more

I needed my garage door checked after I replaced the jam all the way around garage door opening. They inspected the job and gave me a quote for the work needing to be done. They kept in good contact with me, while waiting for me to be ready for them. The work was done very well and according to the quote, even though I think the technician did a bit more than what the original quote was for. We got new garage doors this month and the experience was amazing. Ed Forsyth worked with us on the purchase and he couldn’t have been nicer. He had to coordinate between us, the home owner, and “Santa,” who bought them as our Christmas present. He did it all with ease. The install was great and the doors look amazing. Yesterday, Chris Nelson was out to install some parts that were on back order. He noticed a part of the install that wasn’t to his liking cosmetically, and took it upon himself to report it and have it fixed. He also witnessed my son drop, and break, one of his toys. Chris stopped and fixed the toy with some tape! You have to work with this company! I can’t believe the way we have been treated. It was like having our own family in our house.read more
