The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive
Here’s a friendly reminder that Stamp Out Hunger, America’s largest single-day food drive, is Saturday, May 14. Watch for a bag in your mailbox, or contribute online!
In conjunction with Harvesters, Overhead Door Company of Kansas City and DH Pace have been participating in a food drive for the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. The companies regularly participate in events benefiting Harvesters, a regional food bank that serves 26 counties in northwestern Missouri and northeastern Kansas.
The food drive started April 15 and runs through May 26. During this time, several employees have attended volunteer nights as team-building events at Harvesters. Team Impact set up three volunteer opportunities: April 26, May 10 and May 12, and had a great turn out of employees and families. With one night left, we’re excited to have had an impact during a busy time of the year!
With school ending in such a short time, the food drive comes at a much-needed point in the year. Harvesters will work to help provide 3 meals a day to more than 100,000 children who normally receive breakfast and lunch at school. Here is a list Harvesters has identified as their most needed items.

About Stamp Out Hunger
Stamp Out Hunger is coordinated nationwide by local chapters of the National Association of Letter Carriers. In the Kansas City Metro, NALC representatives from both sides of the state line work together to collect food to help our area’s hungry citizens in partnership with the U.S. Postal Services, Harvesters, Campbell’s Soup, and Price Chopper.
